Today we were invited to go and see Wallace and Gromit Musical Marvels at the Symphony Hall.  We went not knowing what to expect and it proved to be a totally bonkers and enjoyable afternoon!

The first half of the show was all about the unveiling of Wallace's new concerto.  With a live video link to Wallace's dressing room we soon found out that he was putting the finishing touches to it.  Luckily the live orchestra were on hand to entertain us while we waited with some fantastic musical pieces including Bohemian Rapsedy.    By the end of the first half we found out that Wallace had, had an unfortunate accident with his piano and he would not be able to perform.  Luckily Gromit came to the rescue with a solo violin performance.

After a short interval the second half of the concert was the showing of The Wrong trousers with a live orchestral accompaniment.

As the show came to a close we were left feeling like we had seen and heard lots of beautiful and funny things.  The tour was set up as an accessible fun way for young audiences to enjoy live classical music.  This aim was definitely achieved with an inspiring, fun and energetic orchestral performance interspersed with animation from Wallace and Gromit.  A sure fire hit with all the family.
