Halloween at Warwick Castle

We've just returned from an overnight stay at Warwick castle.  We stayed at the Knights Village which is always a wonderful break for both adults and children.  Our boys love the beautiful green  open spaces to explore and joust in.  I love the unlimited supply of coffee and the buffet breakfast.  It's a win, win!  For a more detailed review of our Knights Village stay from a previous visit follow the link.

Warwick Castle is looking particularly spooky at the moment for its Haunted Castle event.  There's something for everyone.  Both my boys are quite young so we stuck to the Plucky Pumpkins activities which are specially designed for young families.  A big hit with us was the Haunted Hollows trail which takes you on a journey through an enchanted hallows.  As you wind your way along the paths you get to meet some creepy characters.  This is open during the day as well as in the evening when it is all lit up to make for a very spooky atmosphere.  After a quick stop at the Horrible Histories Maze we then headed to the central courtyard for the Dead Centre Stage activities.  This is on throughout the day with a host of characters who entertain the crowds with games and spooktacular shows.

If your children are older and keen on a scare there is the The Daring Dukes activities which include The Castle Dungeon and Paranormal Encounters for 10yrs+.  Then for people who are 12yrs+ and looking for a real scare there is Brave Knights.   From 5pm-9pm the Dead of Knight begins.  This is the all new scare maze which sees an army of the dead rise from Warwick Castle and you must escape through the maze!

We really enjoyed our Halloween trip to Warwick Castle, it was a great half term treat.  The activities on offer were all well thought out and age appropriate so if you weren't looking for a fright you didn't get one!

The Haunted Castle event continues until the 3rd November.  To book your tickets follow the link.
