Ad~Today we headed over to Touchwood in Solihull.  Touchwood is a shopping centre in the heart of Solihull which boasts a large array of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars and a cinema.  There's something for everyone.

We decided to head straight to Touchwood's newest summer attraction Backyard Golf.  Located outside in Theatre Square.  The course is open daily Monday - Sunday until the 1st September. There’s no need to book in advance, so it’s the perfect option for a spontaneous family day out.  It costs £3 each.  We really enjoyed working our way around the 6 hole golf course.  A particular favourite was the last hole in which you had to putt the golf ball into a large flower.  It took quite a few attempts!  Once we had completed the course we went and sat in one of the wooden chalets located around the edge of the course and enjoyed a hot drink purchased from The Core which is just opposite Backyard Golf.  The chalets are located in a lovely part of the square.  We all enjoyed sitting in the sunshine with our drinks and watching the other families completing the Backyard golf course.

Once we'd finished our drinks we went in search of some back to school essentials.  There are some great options in Touchwood including John Lewis, Next, H&M, Paperchase and The Entertainer.  We found some excellent lunchboxes and drink bottles in the Entertainer.

As we wandered around Touchwood our stomachs began to rumble at the sight and delicious smells coming from the many varied restaurants on offer.  There's something for everyone.  We chose Yakinori a Japanese restaurant with a bright friendly interior and a delicious menu for both adults and children.  My boys were very excited by the children's menu and both went for chicken stir fry and bubble tea.  They were both impressed by their meals.  I went for a bento seafood box which contained a little bit of everything including sticky rice, grilled yin and yang prawn skewer, takoyaki, tempura calamari and tempura prawn and lots more.  It was absolutely delicious.

Once we'd finished our lunch it was time to leave.  We had a great morning out in Touchwood taking part in Backyard golf, picking up some back to school essentials and eating delicious food.  We'll definitely come back soon.
