Van Gogh Alive

After 7 long months of not going to the theatre, visiting a museum or dropping into an art gallery we were finally able to visit the Birmingham Hippodrome and it was glorious!  Van Gogh Alive opened on the 8th October and runs until the 31st December.

Van Gogh Alive is an amazing multi sensory experience that takes you on a journey through the life of Van Gogh.  The journey consists of Van Gogh masterpieces projected onto the floor, ceiling and walls of the theatre all set to a beautiful arrangement of classical music.  It is a 40 minute experience where you are encouraged to wander around the room (remembering social distancing) looking at the projections from different perspectives.

We visited Van Gogh Alive as a family, my boys are 4yrs and 7yrs old.  My 4yr old loved the floor projections that moved around.  He hopped, jumped and sat down on them (all things that were encouraged).  My 7yr old wandered round in awe enjoying the beauty of it,

After 7 long months of being starved of arts and culture this was just the kind of experience we had been craving.  It was overwhelmingly beautiful.  A real must see.  For more information follow the link.
