March Family Events at the Exchange

Come and join The Exchange this March for lots of family fun.  The Exchange is based in the historic old municipal bank located in Centenary Square.  There's a range of sessions available all based around the new world of AI.  

World Book Day story time

Come to the Exchange for World Book Day 2024, a worldwide celebration of reading and books.

Artist Sarah Hamilton Baker leads this sensory and interactive session featuring stories that explore the relationship between humans, technology and future worlds.

AI FUTURES: Brain Awareness Week

Join researchers from the University of Birmingham’s Centre for Human Brain Health (CHBH) to celebrate Brain Awareness Week 2024.
 

Drop in at The Exchange for a family outing filled with brain-boosting activities. Sculpt your very own brain model from clay, decorate a brain-shaped hat, and wrap your head around illusions designed to play tricks on your brain!
 

Join in the fun and learn about the unique and special qualities of the human brain and the progress and benefits of brain research.  Follow the link for more information.

This Easter The Exchange are inviting families to celebrate the heritage of their beautiful building. Pick up a self-guided trail and crack the code - get it right and you'll be led to a safety deposit box in The Vaults with a tasty surprise!

New for 2024, family tours take you on an interactive exploration of The Exchange.

​

Follow guides around the Exchange and step into the shoes of those who once worked and banked in this historic building. In the Board Room, help the bank manager balance the books. Design your dream working lunch in the former canteen. And consider the special things you'd safeguard in the safety deposit boxes as you explore The Vaults.

​

Tours last approximately 90 minutes and run twice each day:

  • Tuesday 26 March: 10:00 - 11:30 and 13:00 – 14:30

  • Thursday 28 March: 10:00 - 11:30 and 13:00 – 14:30

​
