Last night we were invited to a birthday celebration like no other at the Hippodrome to mark its 120 years.  Fun fact-   the Hippodrome started life as a circus in 1899!  As part of the celebrations Circus 1903 is performing it's fantastic show from 26th October- 2nd November. The circus combines a brilliant mix of jaw-dropping and dangerous acts from across the globe.  There were acrobats, contortionists, trapeze and high wire performers.  There was also a great mix of comedy and magic from the hilarious Willy Whisnade the circus ringleader who interacted with the audience throughout the show. For us the most impressive part of the show were the life size elephant puppets (created by the team behind War Horse).  They were  stunning to look at and really added to the feeling that you were transported back to the Golden Age of the circus.  A real must see show for half term.
