Encounter Farming: Summer Programme at Forge Mill Farm

This summer, Forge Mill Farm has an exciting programme for visitors to encounter farming including learning more about our machinery, seeing where some of our food comes from, meeting the horses from around Sandwell Valley Country Park, discovering creepy crawlies and exploring the gorgeous sunflower field! Each week there will be a new theme for you to come and discover with trails, craft activities, demonstrations plus all the usual fun on the farm!

Discover what it was really like to spend time on both sides of the bars in our one-of-a-kind police museum, located in the heart of Birmingham. Explore our Victorian lock-up that was built in 1891 and remained a working police cell block until 2016.

Outdoor theatre- Tall Tales: Goldilocks and the Three Bears at Blakesley Hall

Take part in an interactive telling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Come to the kitchen where Goldilocks tasted the bears’ porridge, see the chairs belonging to the Three Bears and find the beds that Goldilocks tried out. Each storytelling experience will last approximately 45 minutes, with time for craft beforehand. An enchanted way to explore Blakesley Hall, this event is suitable for children aged 3-8 and accompanying adults.

This year’s weekend of sporting fun will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August at Wyndley Leisure Centre. The Games inspire health and happiness through physical activity. You can meet many local clubs in a fun and friendly environment, have a go and leave with a medal too.

Free Antics Family Theatre Festival at Newhampton Art Centre

The fun day will be full of FREE theatre shows including comedy, puppets, magic and lots of mischief from the likes of Thingamajig, Ascension Dance, Talking Birds, Dangerous Dave, Curious Cargo and our MC and compere for the day Dreadlock Alien. They will also be series of FREE children's creative workshops running throughout the day to keep the whole family busy and entertained.
