BIRMINGHAM MUSEUMS IS CHOC-FULL OF TREATS THIS EASTER

 

Easter is just around the corner and families planning for the school holiday need look no further as Birmingham Museums is choc-full of eggciting events to keep the kids entertained! Transform into a dino hunter at Thinktank, go nature exploring at Sarehole Mill, become a circus performer in the spectacular surroundings of Aston Hall or jump into the story of Goldilocks and meet the Three Bears at historic Blakesley Hall. There’s so much to see and do!

 

Open seven days a week during the Easter holiday (9th April - 24th April), experience Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum from a new perspective, as there’s been a breakout! Count how many dinosaurs and eggs you can find hidden around the museum in the Great Dino Hunt as you explore four floors of interactive exhibits and displays.

Don’t miss the chance to blast into outer space in the Planetarium, watch the Operation Earth family show, enjoy the outdoor science garden or explore MiniBrum, an interactive mini city for under 8s as part of your visit. Stop off at the Signal Box Café and shop for a well-earned treat too.

 

Take part in the Games with Ghosts circus workshops at Aston Hall on Wednesday 13 and 20 April where families can learn new skills in an incredible setting. There’s also a fairy tale takeover on Sunday 17 April when Aston in Wonderland comes alive. Enjoy music, laughter, fun and frolics as you explore the hall – but watch out, for foul beasts and evil villains may have escaped as well! Or how about hearing a lesser-known fairy tale on Thursday 14 and 21 April in Tall Tales from Around the World:
The Magic Bed
 - an interactive telling of a fairy tale from India about a young prince who uses a magic bed to travel to far away kingdoms.

 

Get hands on with nature in the tranquil surroundings of Sarehole Mill on Wednesday 13 and 20 April. From pond dipping to tree rubbing each session will involve different activities which will help little ones and adults alike to learn more about the biodiversity all arounds us. Why not make a reservation for pizza in the courtyard, once you’ve worked up an appetite?

 

At Blakesley Hall bunny hop your way around the garden on an Easter egg hunt trail from 13 - 17 April, and don’t forget to claim your prize at the end. On Wednesday 13 April take an enchanted tour around Blakesley Hall as part of an interactive storytelling of the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Visited the kitchen where Goldilocks tasted the bears’ porridge, see the chairs belonging to the Three Bears and find the beds that Goldilocks tried out. There’s also Easter crafts on Thursday 14 April and a chance to meet the Tudors on Friday 15 April.
