FREE Snowman walking trail

This new and enchanting family-friendly walkable trail all around central Birmingham features 12 incredible sculptures in a tribute to Raymond Briggs’ magical classic, The Snowman™. Each Snowman has been individually decorated by a professional artist, inspired by the theme of the 12 Days of Christmas.

 

When? 17th November 2021-6th January 2022

Where? Across Birmingham city centre at locations such as Bullring & Grand Central, the Mailbox, Centenary Square, Victoria Square and House of Frase

Christmas trail at Parkridge 

The Parkridge Christmas Trail is open during nature reserve opening hours (9AM – 3PM) daily until Christmas Eve. Last maps are sold at 2:30PM daily; as the trail takes about 30 minutes to complete.  No need to book just turn up.

Maps purchased from the café counter. One map per child (£3.50 each). This includes a small Christmas present per child.

Naughty Elf Christmas trail  

Help! Some elves have run away from the North Pole and taken children’s Christmas presents. We’ve heard a rumour that they are heading to Staunton Harold, you may find them around the main paths around the woodland, picnic and playground area.  Santa will need your help to find all the missing presents! Trail activity sheets will be available to purchase for £3 from cafe from the 30th November. Once having completed the trail, you will make it onto Santa’s good list and receive a free crafty prize.  For more information follow the link.

Festive Fairy Trail and Maize Maze at Manor Farm Fruits

This wonderful walk (with a festive twist) is a challenge to help the Fairy Queen find the Wise Owl as well as the Naughty Elves, The Snowman and of course Santa and his Reindeer!

When? 11th and 12th December 2021. Daily from Saturday, 18th December through until Thursday, 23rd December inclusive

Percy the Park Keeper's winter wander trails at the National Trust 

 

Are you ready for a winter adventure? From 4 December 2021, you're invited to join Percy the Park Keeper and his animal friends in giving nature a helping hand at the places in our care.

Step into Percy's wellies for the day as his helper and join in the fun by taking part in a winter activity trail throughout December 2021 and January 2022.  For more information follow the link.

Nutcracker Trail at War Memorial Park

There are six Nutcrackers hiding in the park. Can you find them all, write down the letter with each one to make a special Christmassy word?  Trail packs cost £3 and can be purchased from the Visitor Centre. Trail packs include: a trail activity sheet, pencil and Christmas gift.  No booking required. Open daily from 10am to 3pm.  For more information follow the link.

The Snowman and Snowdog fly into Swadlincote

The trail is inspired by The Snowman™ and The Snowdog short, animated film released in 2012 and the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ worldwide and much-loved hit The Snowman™.  In it, a young boy builds a snowman and creates a snowdog with the remaining snow. At midnight both of his creations come to life.

The magical characters will be in place from 20 November to 16 January, offering plenty of opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy revisiting their childhood memories.  For more information follow the link.
