1) The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Alex

Step through the wardrobe this winter into the magical kingdom of Narnia for the most mystical of adventures in a faraway land. Join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they wave goodbye to wartime Britain and say hello to a talking Faun, an unforgettable Lion and the coldest, cruellest White Witch. The nations favourite novel, now on the stage.

2) Notelets: Jazz in the Jungle Trilogy

The CBSO's Notelets series are specially created concerts designed to open up the world of classical music to children and adults alike. Lively, entertaining and informal, these concerts are a wonderful opportunity for the young, and young-at-heart, to get to know our world-famous orchestra, their instruments and the music they play.

3) Giant Harry Potter wands Light Show

The installation will consist of nine 15 foot-tall wands representing nine beloved characters from both Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.

Free Cherry Blossom Concert 

​

Cherry Blossom Concert in collaboration with IKON Gallery.This will be a beautiful, free, and sensory event for all ages. Come along to an ambient sound garden and hear flute, electronic sound projections and relaxing percussion inspired by the beautiful Japanese garden, Ryanoji.

Free Wondrous Stories

​

Centenary Square will be transformed into a stage for Wondrous Stories, a spectacular open-air show to kick-off the Birmingham 2022 Festival. Featuring Motionhouse’s internationally renowned professional dance-circus company alongside a mass cast of hundreds from Critical Mass, Freewheelin Dance Company, Motionhouse Youth, Sampad and DanceXchange, audiences can expect large-scale immersive action and plenty of thrills as stories, a giant book and characters tumble out of the night sky.

When? 17 March, 7pm 18 - 20 March, 6.30pm and 8.30pm
