Welcome in the Year of the Tiger at Bullring & Grand Central

Celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome in the Year of the Tiger at Bullring & Grand Central with a day of FREE performances on Saturday 5 February 2022.

Between 12pm and 5pm, shoppers and visitors to the city centre can enjoy the traditional, and much loved, lion dance and processions through Bullring & Grand Central as well as a packed programme featuring fan dancers, shaolin monks and face changing dancers.

Produced with Birmingham Hippodrome and supported by the Chinese Festival Committee Birmingham and Chinese Community Centre Birmingham, Chinese New Year in Birmingham will welcome in the Year of the Tiger. 2022 is specifically the year of the Water Tiger, running from 1 February 2022 until 21 January 2023. The Tiger is known as the king of all beasts in China and the zodiac sign Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness.
