2019 Highlights
As 2019 comes to an end I thought I would compile some of our highlights of great family time in the Midlands. In no particular order here are our top 10 moments:
1) National Memorial Aboretum
A real gem of a place and free to enter. Lots of wide open spaces for the children to explore, 2 playgrounds, a mud kitchen and a stick man trail. For a full review of National Memorial Arboretum follow the link.
2) Stratford Upon Avon Butterfly Farm
A farm filled with hundreds of beautiful butterflies which are able to fly freely among the tropical plants, waterfalls and fish filled pools. For a full review of Stratford Butterfly Farm follow the link.
3) Holy Moly Mac Restaurant
A meal that my whole family enjoyed which is a minor miracle for us! Great kids menu and my Shrimp Daddy Macaroni (Chorizo and shrimp) was delicious. For a full review of Holy Moly Mac follow the link.
4) Bear Grylls Adventure
If you're looking for adventure this is the place! Scuba Diving, feed diving, I Fly indoor Skydiving, Shooting, high ropes, assault courses, archery, snorkeling, escape rooms and climbing walls all under one roof. For a full review of Bear Grylls follow the link.
5) Graffiti Art Trail around Digbeth
We had a great free day out in Digbeth on the hunt for graffiti art. A really cool place with lots to see. Follow the link for a Digbeth graffiti art trail map
6) A stay at Knight's Village at Warwick Castle
Such a restful (yes restful!!!) stay at Knight's Village. Lovely accommodation, great breakfast and large open field for the kids to run wild in. For a full review of Knight's village follow the link.
7) Christmas at Drayton Manor Park
We spent such a magical day at Drayton Maor Park. There was fake snow, fairy lights, a brass band playing carols and Father Christmas himself. Wonderful! For a full review of our day at Drayton Manor Park follow the link.
8) Mini Brum at the Think Tank
A child-sized world for children under 8 years old. It features several different play zones and recognisable landmarks, such as the Birmingham canals, Selfridges and the Old Joe Clock Tower at the University of Birmingham. A brilliant addition to the Think Tank. For a full review of Mini Brum follow the link.
9) Alice and the Library Tree by B'opera
B'opera aim to create beautiful music for tiny ears and that's exactly what they do through this beautiful story of a girl who fights to stop her library being shut down. A real must see! For a full review of B'opera follow the link.
10) Peter Pan at the Rep
A brilliant retelling of Peter Pan, set in inner city Birmingham complete with Brummy accents. Peter Pan like you've never seen it before! For a full review follow the link.
